Neatnik by Hideki Nakajima

Art director Hideki Nakajima challenges book design conventions by subtraction.

His Neatnik, an exhibition catalog for Seiko, combines the virtues of a hard cover and a paperback. Nakajima rejects the traditional hard cover and uses instead a single cardboard sewn into the book.

The result has stiff authority but allows for flexible page flipping.
