Hole Works by Makoto Orisaki

For his Hole Works series, subtractionist Makoto Orisaki drills neat round holes in a variety of everyday products.

By diminishing his objects, such as in #029 Day Chair &
#030 Trash Can (facing page), Orisaki makes them more
significant through allowing the outside space to enter
their inner world.

In McDonald’s “Easy” & Burger King “Love” (overleaf)
he goes one step further: the unpunched areas contain
subliminal verbal messages.
