Reactive Square by John Maeda

Inspired by Kasimir Malevich, subtractionist John Maeda creates his Reactive Square, a CD ROM featuring a black square that reacts to human voice.

Depending on the selected mode, the square twists, throbs, changes color or breaks apart. The stark simplicity of the base-form makes those reactions obvious.
